Design & Technology
with Mrs. Jarvis-Nivens
Hello, my name is Kat Jarvis-Nivens and this is my second year at Imagine Harrisburg Pike. I teach kindergarten through 6th grade students in Design & Technology, which is a blended learning class I developed which incorporates the Design Cycle to create art and technology integrated projects. I am proud to announce that IHPCS is a
2015 Character.org Promising Practice award winner for our work with the Thanksgiving Meal Program I developed at IHPCS.
Before coming to Harrisburg Pike I was a Design & Tech teacher, Computer teacher, Fitness teacher, and After-School Sports coordinator at French Run Elementary in Reynoldsburg for a year and a half. Before French Run, I was an Art & Art History teacher for four year at Columbus Arts & Technology Academy.
I graduated from The University of Findlay in 2005, Suma Cum Laude and with Honors, majoring in Multi-Age Visual Art Education, Children's Book Illustration, and Studio Art. I played soccer at The University of Findlay and was a goal keeper. I have been a Sports Director and Coach for nine years with Skyhawks Sports Academy coaching a variety of different sports for children ages 3-14. I am the Pickerington Soccer Coordinator and Coach for i9 Sports for children ages 3-10. I also coached softball for Reynoldsburg as the Head Junior High Coach, U18 Indoor Softball Coach, and U15 Summer Softball Coach. I love working with children and watching them grow as they develop their skills in the classroom and on the sports field.
My amazing husband Drew and I were married in Venice, Italy in a gondola.
